Beds were firm, pillows small, and no A/C. But place was clean and with windows open cool enough to sleep. Ate dinner at the restaurant -- traditional Franconian dishes, delicious. The pool and spa in the basement is quirky. Spa is self-serve but costs; the pool doesn't cost extra but no towels.

When the weather allows it the surroundings are great, check out the Storchennest nearby . Currently construction next to the hotel which is a bit too loud in the morning. Altmuehlsee is according to me the most beautiful lake in the area. I visited it in winter so I can't say what is a service quality. But it seems to have everything one can need to relax on the beach or enjoy water sports.

The Parkhotel is a rather new building with spacious, friendly rooms in the Franconian lake district. We had a cosy suite of rooms consisting of a large living room, a bedroom and a large, elegant bathroom. The food in the restaurant "Chicoree" was fabulous regardless of whether we ate à la carte or the proposed menue. The spa area features a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, a steam room, a Finnish sauna and an infrared sauna. The only downside is that the spa area is rather small for the number of guests the hotel can accomodate.
